About our Program

Hands on Learning creates opportunities for our students to discover their talents and strengths through authentic hands-on projects around the College.

Bayswater Secondary College proudly became a Hands on Learning partner school in 2022, and we have hit the ground running with a number of projects, the most significant of which is the design and construction of our yarning circle.

Hands on Learning focuses on four main elements to build the wellbeing and resilience of young people to develop the confidence they need to succeed in school and life.  These are, that students engage in the program by feeling safe and connected, having a sense of belonging, feeling that what they are doing at school is purposeful and believing they are developing meaningful skills to thrive at school, within their community and into employment.
